Ashley Rhodes-Courter, MSW

Ashley spent almost ten years in foster care before being adopted at the age of 12 from a group home. Many of her foster placements were abusive. Today, Ashley is an MSW, adoptive mother, and author of the New York Times and international bestselling memoir, Three Little Words, and Three More Words. She has worked in the United States and overseas providing a variety of keynotes and workshops for agencies, non-profits, families, courts, policy makers, conferences, schools, and businesses. From a young age, she believed that education and community were key tools to survival. Now a foster and adoptive parent herself, she aims to strengthen and empower other families and youth to succeed. She recognizes that families and individuals must have access to the skills and education they need to sustain themselves emotionally, nutritionally, and to function optimally.
